Code of Conduct

Our goal is to create a positive, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone at the club.

We strive to preserve a pleasant and respectful environment both on and off the court, so that all
members can fully use and enjoy the club’s facilities. The highest level of sportsmanship, courtesy,
respect for others, and fair play is expected. All club members, guests/visitors, tennis professionals, and
parents must adhere to the City of Toronto Human Rights and Anti-Harassment/Discrimination Policy,
the OTA Code of Conduct, and the rules of Pine Point Tennis Club as follows:

  1. General Etiquette and Respect
    • Show respect toward others regardless of age, gender or sexual orientation, race, culture, or
    religion.
    • Show respect for Pine Point Tennis Club, its property, and facilities.
    • Inappropriate language, aggressive behaviour, or any form of bullying will not be tolerated.
    • Any statement or behaviour that is reasonable for an individual to interpret as a threat will
    not be tolerated.
    • Harassment will not be tolerated. Harassment is defined as engaging in a course of
vexatious comment or conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known as
    unwelcome.
    • Keep noise levels reasonable and avoid disruptive behaviour on and off the courts.
  2. Court Usage
    • Courts must be booked in advance and used only during the reserved time.
    • Be mindful of court turnover – finish play on time and vacate promptly when your booking
    ends.
    • Do not walk onto a court while a point is in play.
    • Clean the lines after playing to leave the court in good condition for the next players.
  3. Safety and Club Facilities
    • Players assume responsibility for their own safety; report any hazards or issues to club
    management.
    • Smoking, vaping, or consuming alcoholic beverages are prohibited on club property.
  4. Dogs and Pets
    • All dogs must be always kept on a leash and under control. Owners are responsible for
ensuring their pets do not disrupt play or other members’ enjoyment of the Club.
  5. Coaching and Lessons
    • Only club-approved coaches may provide lessons on club courts.
  6. Consequences of Violations
    • Anyone who fails to follow the Code of Conduct as judged by the Committee may face
disciplinary action or the termination of Membership as described in our bylaws.
